Save on wedding costs and have the chocolate fountain
Feb 2nd, 2010 Posted in Chocolate Fountains Articles | Comments OffChocolate fountains, once a rarity at weddings, it is increasingly common – but no less loved. Yet, they represent a budgetary tightening for many brides, coming just slightly lower than the wedding cake – and it is for a three-day rental!
If you're like us, there is something that just burns our little Yankee hearts to spend more than $ 400 to rent a machine that granted, costs a little more than ten times, but have rented it many times. And yet, if you wantus, you really want a chocolate fountain so that fits kg
We're both in luck, because the finest chocolate fountains are for domestic consumption and increasingly accessible … Even the stingy!
The things we buy – and why not?
Have you seen the competitors soon, maybe on eBay – inexpensive chocolate fountains of the lesser known brands that are sold for eighty dollars. Probably thought of trying one out, just becauseprice difference between this and a car rental was so astronomical.
We have also, but as we read on the small, cheap versions, we met a lot of complaints. One of the most troublesome is that the cheap fountains like the sound of correction was a tough call, the neighbor is not – which is not the atmosphere we wanted for our party.
Furthermore, we were not sure if you want to keep the fountain in the long term. We decided to buy something with a goodresale value, so you can recover our money, if necessary.
Fortunately, as our deadline approached, Sephra – the standard in high-end rental fountains – began with pre-orders on their first home fountains market. We are down to about $ 250, a beautiful fountain, which is now five pounds of chocolate. The fountains were so new that we had to move us to the lovely cherry red we would have a stainless steel to receive it in time. But weI had it.
Showtime … Some tips
Once acquired, it was time to test it in live conditions! The first part we reveal who was on the small side, with about 25 people. Set-up was simple. The experience did not, but we learn a few tips:
Trying to get comfortable with your chocolate fountain for a great cause. Will not really understand the logic behind the instruction book, to try. Eg
1) chocolate fountainnot really need to be balanced to work properly. Sephra models offer adjustable feet to achieve it. When we set our source, we were so busy that we do not have that level, and has not been running well until a left-brain kind in shining armor set for us. So things work 100% better.
2) When melting large quantities of chocolate, not even bother with a double burner. You must use a glass bowl and a large microwave oven, which will hopefully give your location. Heat slowly, as recommended- Not more than 50% power.
3) Also, Sephra provides you with a small tool to see if your chocolate has melted enough to flow properly. Err on the side of "funds" rather than "not enough". Especially in light of the minute or so it takes to transport, the chocolate can easily thickness for a flow easier.
With 25 very interested people, almost (but not all, us) ran through our first five pounds of chocolate. So it is possible to estimate demand a poundof chocolate per five invitees. Just remember to take an extra on hand.
We are concerned that it would be difficult to fill the fountain – for example, or we would have to pull everything back into the kitchen, disassemble, recharge – but seems to be dead simple. Simply pour the melted chocolate into the bowl below.
Our chocolate Conclusions
Sephra bringing larger versions of their fountain in the domestic market. For a wedding or a largeparty in a couple of hundred, it would probably go with a larger version.
But you can not so well with the model five pounds. After all, it is difficult to dissolve, carry or otherwise manage more than five pounds of chocolate a time when chocolate chips (as many "who would not believe). All it takes is someone who is willing to watch and refill periodically, it is not difficult. choose one that can be a bit 'confused, without a problem, not a bridesmaid in shiny taffeta -.
IfWe will have more time and a larger part, we want to make probably the largest fountain we could buy, care adequately and sell when the hype dies down. Would save a great deal of change over rental $ 400-500 a day, and bring the chocolate fountain within reach of a lot more brides (and happy customers).
And if you happen to fall in love and the day of sale has never come?
Well, it happens. Just ask us.
